People all over the world are familiar with the works of the famed American author Dr. Seuss. He had such an impact on children’s literature that every year on his birthday, March 2nd, schools all over the nation celebrate “Read Across America Day”. This holiday was set in place to celebrate the life of Dr. Seuss and to encourage literacy. Fun tidbit, Dr. Seuss was not an actual doctor! He only chose the pen name “Dr. Seuss” because his father had always wanted him to practice medicine.
