What is Family Promise? They are an organization available to families facing homelessness. They keep the family together and walk alongside them for 60 days during their journey from homelessness to permanent housing.
Pets are part of the family and Family Promise welcomes their pets- to stay together even after losing their homes. Their social work team works with them to meet their basic needs, connect with community resources, and accomplish their employment and housing goals.
During their stay, the families receive meals, clothing, free childcare, computer access, housing, bus passes, education and financial assistance.
Congregations and over 5000 volunteers shelter families in their facilities each night. They provide meals, activities, and private bedrooms for each family.
They also help each family secure permanent housing through rental properties. Once they move in, they are set up with basic supplies like cleaning products, bedding, and towels.
When a family graduates and moves into a permanent home, Family Promise continues to work with them for up to 24 months with parenting, emergency assistance and financial coaching to help families become self-sufficient and remain in stable housing. They have a success rate of 70%!
